P6/7 enjoyed and educational workshop on communication, celebrating Marconi’s work from over a hundred years. Facilitators from W5 helped the children to explore the different ways of communicating, including string telephones, flag Semaphore and Morse code. Marconi used his knowledge about the ‘spark gap’ to build a better spark machine for communication between Ballycastle and Rathlin Island.
